US, June 29, 2009 - It's sad but true that a lot of TV series don't get the chance to do a proper finale – and are unceremoniously cancelled after they wrapped up their most recent season, with the show's creators not given specific prior knowledge that their series won't be back. As it turns out, that is the case for Showtime's Brotherhood, which had been in a state of limbo for the past few months. While the situation certainly didn't look good for the series, Showtime also wouldn't confirm Brotherhood, which starred Harry Potter's Jason Isaacs, had officially been cancelled.
Now however, we know it's over for Brotherood, via a bit of roundabout delivery. As TVShowsOnDVD.com reports, the information for the DVD release of last year's Season 3 has been announced – and Showtime and Paramount are officially calling it Brotherhood: The Final Season. So unfortunately for fans of the series, it's now clear that the show is 100% over and there will be no fourth season.
Oh well, we knew it was so, just hadn't had it confirmed. What a pity for Jason and all the cast and crew and for the people of Rhode Island who won't get the benefits from the production being there in the state.
